Lack of research when prospecting

No 12 - research, research. research!

I bet like me, you are getting a lot of prospecting emails from people who can transform your business, utilise your LinkedIn, double your sales in 2 days, increase your contact lists; you’ve heard all of them I bet.

What really annoys me is the number of times the approach starts with ‘I’ve researched your business and I feel we should connect’. Then they proceed to make you an offer that would have no benefit to your business whatsoever.

When you are going to reach out to people, research them. Understand their business and highlight the benefits you can bring to that business.

A broadcast email will offend people. My time is precious - don’t waste it!
